Child Protection

Radford Primary Academy fully recognises its responsibilities for safeguarding our children.

Our policy applies to all staff, volunteers, governors and visitors in the school.

There are five main elements to our policy:

  • Ensuring we practice safe recruitment in line with national legislation by using at least one suitably trained recruiter on all interview panels and by checking the suitability of staff and volunteers to work with children and ensuring any unsuitable behaviour is reported and managed using the Allegations Management procedures
  • Raising awareness of child protection issues and equipping children with the skills needed to keep them safe
  • Developing and then implementing procedures for identifying and reporting cases, or suspected cases, of abuse
  • Supporting pupils who have been abused in accordance with his/her agreed child protection plan
  • Establishing a safe environment in which children can learn and develop.

Preventing children & young people being drawn into terrorism.

All staff are currently receiving training to raise awareness and understand how to contribute to The Prevent Duty—Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015.

We actively provide fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

Children's Pledge

The Coventry Pledge is a set of promises made to children and young people who are in the care of the Council, regardless of where you live. It is a commitment from the Council and our partner agencies to make sure that you can reach your full potential and enjoy the same opportunities in life as your friends.
